Full-time Pathologist with Dermatopathology Specialization
PAA is the largest and oldest pathology practice in the State of New Mexico. Our physicians are board certified and most have completed fellowships in subspecialties such as blood banking and transfusion medicine, surgical pathology, dermatopathology, hematopathology, cytopathology, gynecologic pathology, gastrointestinal/hepatobiliary, and molecular pathology.
We are in search for a board certified/eligible candidate to work on the dermatopathology service. There is flexibility in this position ranging from working as a part-time pathologist who only participates in the dermatopathology service (i.e. 60% or 80%) or as a full-time pathologist in a cross-functional capacity working 60% of the time in dermatopathology and 40% of the time in another area of either anatomic or clinical pathology. At least two to three years’ experience is preferred.
Duties include service work, sign-out responsibilities, and some research responsibilities. Candidate will work closely with the University of New Mexico Departments of Pathology and Dermatology to teach residents and fellows of both specialties.

Pathologists’ Assistant Position
Pathology Associates of Albuquerque, P.A. is a private practice in New Mexico, processing approximately 65,000 surgical specimens per year. We are seeking an ASCP board certified/board eligible and experienced Pathologists’ Assistant to join our busy private practice in New Mexico. PAA is affiliated with Presbyterian Healthcare Services, TriCore Reference Laboratories, and the University of New Mexico School of Medicine.
- Grossing routine and complex surgical cases
- Assisting with frozen sections and autopsies
- Providing leadership and mentoring to hospital and laboratory staff, pathology residents, and pathologists’ assistant students
- Rotating weekend call – No night call – Rotating holiday coverage.
