Pathology Associates of Albuquerque’s staff also includes seven highly qualified and exceptional pathologists’ assistants (PAs). They play an active and vital role in the provision of pathology services throughout New Mexico. Peter Appenzeller, M.D. oversees this section of our practice.
PA’s are ASCP certified and members of The American Society for Clinical Pathologists, The American Association of Pathologists’ Assistants.
PAA is committed to ongoing training of pathologists’ assistants through its affiliation with Presbyterian Healthcare Services and Rosalind Franklin University (RFU). We provide mentorship programs to students of RFU.
PAA works with the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, Department of Pathology by providing rotations for residents and fellows.
