Dr. Appenzeller is Clinical Associate Professor at University of New Mexico School of Medicine. He has privileges at Dan C. Trigg Memorial Center, Espanola Hospital, Kaseman-Presbyterian Hospital, Lincoln County Medical Center, Plains Regional Medical Center, Presbyterian Healthcare Services, Rust Medical Center, Sandoval Regional Medical Center, Santa Fe Medical Center, Socorro General Hospital,  and the University of New Mexico Hospital. Dr. Appenzeller also has privileges at Lovelace Downtown Hospital, Lovelace Women’s Hospital, Lovelace Westside Hospital, and Roswell Hospital.

Dr. Appenzeller is Director and Mentor of the Pathologists’ Assistant Training Program, a joint venture between Presbyterian Healthcare Services and PAA.  He also directs Presbyterian Healthcare Services Gross Room. He is He is a lifetime member of The College of American Pathologists.
